Challenges
During the initial phases of the project, several severe technical and operational hurdles threatened the user experience and platform integrity:

- Server Overloading & Poor Resource Utilization: Sudden spikes in traffic during peak times caused high server loads , resulting in slow response times and high server under-utilization during off-peak hours.
- Gender Verification & Fraud Prevention: Because the platform is strictly dedicated to women, manual verification of users was slow, unscalable, and inefficient. Early automated attempts failed significantly because male faces were not being accurately blocked or detected, creating an urgent need for an automated, highly accurate gender-gate.
- Localization and Accessibility Barriers: Navigating multi-lingual preferences across diverse regions required frictionless, intelligent language translation tools to foster seamless communication.

Our Approch

- Location-Based Ad Protocol: A dedicated engine mapping user latitude/longitude coordinates to push real-time, geo-fenced local service offers and admin announcements.
Architectural Optimizations
- The HLS Video Workflow: We bypassed raw file streaming by adopting the HLS (HTTP Live Streaming) Protocol, processing video clips into adaptive chunks via AWS Elemental. This ensured that regardless of a user’s network provider, video reels played flawlessly.
- Automated Safety Gate: We built an automated pipeline using AWS Face Recognition. When a profile picture or verification video is uploaded, the system checks for age and gender characteristics. It flags and blocks unauthorized inputs instantly, transitioning the platform from a risky manual process into a flawless, automated security gate.
Conclusion
The Womaty App stands as a textbook example of how combining community-focused features with a highly secure cloud architecture can yield immense social value. By integrating robust video streaming protocols (HLS), automated AI security features , and scalable multi-language translation microservices, the platform achieved massive operational resilience. Over a year and a half of continuous deployment, Womaty proved that it can scale efficiently to accommodate multiple users, offering a fast, safe, and entirely uninterrupted digital sanctuary for women worldwide.
